      Provincial Nominee Program

      Candidates can be nominated through express entry pool as well as through existing paper-based process, by a province or territory. An additional 600 points are given to candidates elevating the chances of them receiving the Invitation to Apply (ITA). Each province or territory, however, is allocated with a limited overall nomination space which affects a candidate’s chances to get selected.

      Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements to enter and remain in the Express Entry Pool:

      • The province/territory minimum criteria and obtain a nomination; and
      • The Express Entry program requirements, which mean one, must also qualify under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) or Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) programs.

      Canadian Experience Class

      CEC program is for temporary workers in Canada who have gained at least one year of Canadian work experience and wish to settle here permanently. to be eligible for this category candidates must:

      • Have at least 12 months of full-time (or an equal amount in part-time) skilled work experience in Canada in the three years before you apply,
      • Managerial jobs (NOC skill level 0)
      • Professional jobs (NOC skill type A)
      • Technical jobs and skilled trades (NOC skill type B)
      • have gained your experience in Canada with the proper authorization
      • Meet the minimum language requirements needed: CLB 5 for NOC B and CLB 7 for NOC 0 and A
      • Plan to live outside the province of Quebec.

      Federal Skills Trades Program

      Applicants are required to meet the following minimum requirements to be eligible to apply in this category:

      • Plan to live outside of Quebec
      • Meet the minimum language requirements (CLB 5 speaking and listening, CLB 4 for reading and writing);
      • Have at least 2 years of full-time work experience (or an equal amount of part-time experience) in a skilled trade within the last 5 years before you apply;
      • Meet the job requirements for that skilled trade as set out in the National Occupational Classification (NOC), except for needing a certificate of qualification, and
      • Have an offer of full-time employment for a total period of at least one year OR a certificate of qualification in that skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial or territorial authority.

      Federal Skilled Worker Program

      All the applicants must pass through the following selection criteria which includes 6 parts and a total of 100 points out of which minimum accepted grade is 67:

      Age

      • A maximum of 12 points can be awarded based on your age on the day your application is received by the Centralized Intake Office

      Education

      • You must prove that you earned a Canadian diploma/certificate or prove that your foreign education is valid and equal to a completed Canadian credential by submitting and Educational Credential Assessment
      • You can be awarded a maximum of 25 points based on your highest level of education attained

      Language

      • Meet the minimum language requirements (CLB 7 for speaking, listening, reading and writing)
      • To get points for your second official language, you must meet the minimum level of CLB 5 in all four language areas
      • A maximum of 28 points can be awarded based on your language ability and that of your spouse (if applicable)
